Cabinet Finish Options

At Tedd Wood, there is no limitation to your choice of cabinet finishes. It’s all custom made to your specifications. In addition to the wide range of standard stains and enamels by Tedd Wood, we can also customize colors to match your existing décor or your future dreams, all in a wide selection of gloss, matte, or opaque finishes.

Many steps of detail are involved and much personal attention is given to achieve the finishes we offer. Some of our old world “vintage finishes” require fine hand sanding, special antiquing and glazing application techniques, and hand-rubbing. When your new kitchen is installed, you will see the amazing results that this attention to detail brings to your home.

StainsThis quick reference guide to our finishes is designed to help you choose a stain or enamel and show you how you can combine the species, glaze and vintage finishes to arrive at a style that is all your own.

Stain
If you prefer to see the natural grain of wood then a stained finish would be for you. Stain allows you to preserve the natural beauty wood grain offers, while still providing a wide range of color options. Stains are offered in all our Tedd Wood cabinetry lines and most of our door options. Visit our stain photo gallery to find the perfect look for your cabinets. Stains can be combined with glazing, antiquing, distressing and/or fly specking to make your kitchen your very own style. Visit our standard stain photo gallery and our stain with glaze photo gallery to see the many options Tedd Wood offers you.

Enamels
Enamel FinishesOur enamel options offer you a wide range of colors. Whether you are looking for a soft inviting color or a deep rich color, you will be sure to find your perfect match. Enamels are offered in all our Tedd Wood cabinetry lines. We do not recommend nor warrant using enamels on our mitered doorstyles. With the ability to combine the enamel with glazing, antiquing, distressing and/or fly specking, you are sure to make your dream kitchen a reality. Visit our standard enamel photo gallery and our enamels with glaze photo gallery to help determine the best color for your cabinetry.

Sheen
Tedd Wood offers different levels of sheen: 10%, 20% and 40%.

Antiquing
If you are looking for a unique style, antiquing may be for you. Antiquing can be done at different levels. This hand-rubbed finish gives you the look of worn edges and is perfect for recreating the kitchens of the past with all new and handy accessories. We have several vintage finishes included in our stain with glaze photo gallery and our enamel with glaze photo gallery to show you the amazing diversity and beauty that antiquing can offer your new home.

Distressing
When you think of distressing, it brings back fond memories of grandma's kitchen. With distressing you can recreate the kitchen with knife marks, worm holes and gouges. This makes the perfect country kitchen, recreating the nostalgia of grandma's kitchen combined with the latest, greatest accessories to make life easier. Visit our stain with glaze photo gallery and our enamel with glaze photo gallery to help you recreate the kitchen you have always wanted.

Fly Specking
The name fly specking describes this vintage finish option well. This can be combined with stain, enamel, glazing, antiquing and/or distressing. It can add another level of style to your cabinetry.
